Up for sale is my completely restored 1972 Norton Commando Combat with a production racer body kit. This is a numbers matching bike with clean title. The mileage on the bike is 4689, and the restoration was done at 4089 miles. I built this bike to be a reliable, mostly leak free, fast, classic English bike for everyday riding. I have not had the time to ride it as much as I had hoped, so I have decided to list it for sale. I love this bike, but it is spending too much time sitting in my garage. It starts 2nd or 3rd kick when cold, or 1st kick when warm. It only leaves a drip or two on the floor after a few weeks of sitting, so it is pretty sealed for a classic English bike. I have never ran ethanol in it and it has used only high quality Brad Penn oil since rebuild. The combat engine is very fast for a classic bike. I still have all the original parts that have been removed except for the original fuel tank. I also have all receipts from the rebuild process. This was a frame up restoration with all consumables and cables replaced and modern upgrades done along the way. Here is a list of what has been done:
– Complete engine rebuild done by reputable Norton engine guru Leo Goff. Cases were media blasted, checked, and painted. Blueprint build to combat spec including new pistons, superblend bearings, cam, valves, etc. Crankcase was modified for better breather performance, and the tach drive was modified to take a better seal
Brand new factory exhaust
Rebuilt gearbox with all new improved bearings
RGM production racer alloy fuel tank, fiberglass production racer front fender and seat ( seat has small crack that is pictured)
Rebuild fork with new seals
Rebuilt front brake caliper and new quality pads
Triton Motorcycle Parts brake master cylinder. This modern master cylinder gives a much better brake feel and it bolts to the stock controls. New braided stainless line
Triton Motorcycle Parts dunstall style rear set foot controls
Adjustable position low handlebar
New wheel bearings and fairly new dunlop TT100 vintage style tires
RGM belt drive primary with dual adjusters
CNW turn signal kit
Stainless overhead oil lines
New Amal 932 concentric carbs and K&N filter
Triton Motorcycle Parts single throttle cable kit for dual carbs
Pazon electronic ignition and Boyer dual output coil kit
Headlight relay kit for more power and modified charge warning light
New vernier style adjustable isolastic kit
New Dave Taylor style head steady
CNW breather kit
External oil filter kit
CNW easy pull clutch kit
New steering head bearings and swingarm bushings
New rear shocks
Earlier style taillight and assembly with LED bulbs
Brand new high output 3 phase charging system
Tank and body kit was painted with quality paint by my father in law. Paint looks good with only a barely noticeable imperfection
Missing the chain guard
Engine is just broke in
Lots of stainless hardware
